LED LIGHT THERAPY

LED (Light-Emitting Diode) Light Therapy is a skincare treatment that utilises specific wavelengths of light to address various skin concerns. This non-thermal, non-invasive procedure works by stimulating the skin at a cellular level, promoting rejuvenation, healing, and overall skin health. Different wavelengths of light target specific skin concerns, making LED Light Therapy a versatile and effective treatment. People with any skin type and colour can use LED light as it doesn’t use ultraviolet (UV) light, meaning it doesn’t cause damage or burns to your skin.

LED light therapy makes use of various wavelengths that correspond to different visible colours. Each of these wavelengths - or colors - penetrates the skin at different depths.

  • Blue Light: Blue light targets the P. acnes bacteria, which contribute to acne formation. It helps reduce acne-causing bacteria and inflammation, making it an effective treatment for acne-prone skin. Studies, such as one published in the Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology, have shown significant improvement in acne lesions after blue light therapy.

  • Red Light: Red light stimulates collagen production, promoting skin rejuvenation and reducing the signs of aging. It also improves blood circulation, aiding in wound healing and reducing inflammation. A study in the Journal of Clinical and Aesthetic Dermatology found that red light therapy enhanced skin texture and reduced wrinkles.

  • Near-Infrared Light: Near-infrared light penetrates deeper into the skin, promoting cellular regeneration and increasing collagen production. It aids in wound healing and reduces inflammation. A study published in Lasers in Surgery and Medicine showed that near-infrared light therapy accelerated wound healing and improved tissue regeneration.
